Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of Rubato. Rubato is an independently operated budgeting and decision-support service, not a bank, broker, money transmitter, tax preparer, law firm, or investment adviser.

Eligibility and agreement

You must be at least 18, located in the United States, legally able to enter a contract, and use Rubato only for a lawful personal or household purpose. By creating an account or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Rubato organizes user-provided and optional read-only connected financial information into budgets, educational forecasts, alerts, reports, scenarios, and prioritized next actions. Availability and provider coverage can change. Rubato does not hold assets, transfer money, execute trades, guarantee provider data, extend credit, determine eligibility for a financial product, or promise a financial result.

Account responsibilities

You are responsible for accurate information, a strong password, private credentials, signing out on shared devices, reviewing imported data and assumptions, and maintaining authorization for connected institutions. Do not access another person's account, bypass limits, probe private data, introduce malicious code, disrupt the service, scrape private interfaces, or use Rubato unlawfully.

Educational estimates and AI

Budgets, forecasts, scores, debt scenarios, retirement results, market charts, articles, recommendations, and AI-supported explanations may be incomplete, delayed, or based on assumptions. They are general educational decision support, not individualized financial, investment, tax, accounting, insurance, or legal advice. Review important facts against institution statements and consult qualified professionals before decisions that require professional judgment. Historical results do not predict future performance.

Paid subscriptions and renewal

The public Pricing page and PayPal checkout identify the plan, recurring price, and billing cadence before purchase. Paid subscriptions renew automatically through PayPal at that cadence until cancelled. Rubato does not receive or store full card or PayPal credentials. Taxes may apply where required.

The verified workspace owner can request cancellation from Rubato Settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal after PayPal confirms it and preserves paid access through the provider-verified end of the current period. Except where law requires otherwise or checkout expressly states otherwise, completed billing periods are non-refundable and Rubato does not issue an automatic prorated refund. A reversed, refunded, failed, suspended, or expired provider status may limit paid features. Billing questions can be sent to support@rubatoplan.com.

Third-party services

Plaid, SimpleFIN, PayPal, OpenAI, email providers, market-data sources, and financial institutions operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Rubato is not responsible for a third party's outage, coverage decision, or independent conduct, but will use reasonable care in selecting and configuring providers. A user may keep a manual workspace without connecting a financial institution.

Your information and Rubato content

You retain your rights in information you enter and authorize Rubato to process it only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service under the Privacy Policy. Rubato and its licensors retain rights in the software, design, brand, and public editorial material. Do not copy or resell the private application or imply an endorsement without permission.

Changes, suspension, and termination

Rubato may improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue features for security, legal compliance, provider limits, cost control, or reliability. Access may be suspended for abuse, nonpayment, or material security risk. You may stop using Rubato, disconnect providers, export supported data, cancel renewal, and request deletion. Material term changes update the effective date and will be communicated when required.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Rubato is provided “as is” and “as available” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation. Rubato does not warrant that every provider record, forecast, recommendation, or market value is complete or current. Rights that cannot legally be disclaimed remain unaffected.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Rubato is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by decisions based solely on estimates, third-party interruptions, inaccurate user inputs, or unauthorized activity outside Rubato's reasonable control. Any direct-liability cap and consumer rights must be interpreted under applicable law; nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Clark County, Washington, unless consumer law requires another forum. Before filing a claim, contact support@rubatoplan.com and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Rubato may provide a formal-notice address when one is required for a specific matter.
